By the end of the course, participants will have been given the opportunity to:
- Understand the importance of communication and its uses
- Become familiar with some of the tools and resources available to aid communication, including the use of Alternative and Augmented Communication Systems.
- Explore how to communicate with children and young people who don’t use a specific method of communication
- Understand the differences between fact, interpretation and opinion and when these are appropriate
- Explore the moral and ethical issues relating to communication and engagement with disabled children and young people.
